for all you guys looking for no latency, check out any of line 6’s toneports or guitarport. they have ZERO latency. I use pod farm and get some pretty damn good tone in my home studio
i buyed a drumkit with rubber pads for the studio work. and it feels like the angel have lost her wings.. I must have this kit insteed!
Get a good sound card with ASIO drivers! Then you can get it down to 3ms.
i just got here, looking to possibly buy one of these, can’t you get zero latency with the m-audio audiophile card, which is only 125 dollars and been around for a few years now. zero latency sound card man. there is also asio4all a plugin i have used in cubase. where can i find prices for these RET kits?
I use the Presonus Firebox! It’s a pro audio card with 6 outputs, too.
It’s got my rig down to about 2ms of latency which is low enough to feel good, and not too crazy so it makes my audio crack and pop.
Check it out at my site!

Awesome! I’m glad I could help!

What do you use for latency? I play my guitar with guitar rig 4 and it’s a second off.
And I thought I’d seen everything with EZDrummer, but it’s got a Badass Big Brother Called Superior Drummer. Thanks for the Vid’s, they’ve really helped me with my studio work at home !!!
Ohh wow…just the reply i’ve been looking for…xD
Thank you..^_^
I’m going for Superior Drummer 2.0 then!
Might be the most expensive of them all, but I know it’s worth it…
I’ve made up my mind..ahahah..xD
I think I’ll buy this 1st before getting a real nice yamaha dtxpress iv special..thank you once again..^^
- Ken
thank u!!!
Not necessarily, but most computers just don’t have powerful enough onboard sound cards to run it. You CAN get a free download (ASIO4ALL) to help out.
Other than that, I would definitely recommend getting an external card (with at least 2 outputs if you’re going to play live).
Check out VirtualPercussionOutlet(.com) for more info and to get some cool gear and software! It’s my store, so feel free to let me know if you need anything!

Mine is not a 3 zone. I have rim and head triggers in the RET snare, but it’s so dynamic that it may seem like there are more triggers!

EZdrummer is good, but Superior Drummer 2.0 is like it’s big brother! It gives you a lot of control and ability to use onboard effects. SD2.0 also let’s you use the EZdrummer EZX packs inside of it.
I’d go for SD2.0 if you’re looking for lots of control (a much bigger program, so you’ll need a decent computer) or EZdrummer if you need something good, less expensive, and quick to use.
Please check out my site for more info and to buy!

Thanks!

I’m sure it would! SD2.0 sounds great!

Soo mikey…which one is the most recommendable e-kit to buy? Toontrack EZdrummer Multi Layer Drum Sampler w/ 7000 sound files or this one, the Superior Drummer? (i have no idea how many sound files it has but wherever i go, it’s much more expensive than EZdrummer…does it mean it’s better than EZdrummer? or not?)
Hopingly w8ing for your reply…xD
- Ken
egh…i prefer the velocity OFF on my snare b/c you can get fast rolls or LG3…try both…you just need to edit the velocity curve for the lightest hit for the OFF setting…but during live play it doesn’t really matter cuz you can’t hear really light hits anyways…cymbals just be on LG1 or LG2 and hi hat def. LG2…Roland brains are def. better response but trigger io is bus-powered and so compact…Roland needs to come out with a better TMC module…more inputs and more parameter controls.
Yes! Check my SD2.0 video (1.5 video). I think that’s the one where I show how to create a choke. That way, you can assign a key for the choke note and use that to choke.
Cheers!

Check out my Superior Drummer 2.0 video (1.5 video). It explains how I set my choke!
-mikey
Thanks for watching!
man will i need to get a new sound card for my computer if i get Toontrack superior drummer 2.0???
another quesiton, is ur snare a three trigger ?
how u make that ? and do u conect it?
thank u!!
what’s up mike?! is it possible to choke the cymbal in MIDI? cuz I don’t have a choke capable cymbal yet.
thank u!!
Great video! How can I set to choke the cymbal by hand?
I use DTXpressIV special
Thanks a lot. I’ve been able to put more time into the videos. I really wish I could get a solid take of some of the really tight, and polished stuff, ya know?!
-mikey
dude you’ve gotten a lot better compare to your old vids …
Hey man thanks for the post. I have a TD12 and SD2.0 just buying a Presonus Firebox. How do you connect the Alesis through the Midi interface on the presonus or seperately. And how do you find the live monitoring through the headphones rather than direct out.
Cheers J
